In order to operate the BIG Site and provide you with information, products and services that may be requested by or of interest to you, we collect various types of information.
1. Personal information that you provide directly to us when you subscribe or register to become a member and save items to your profile or submit information through a form based on a specific request or purpose.
2. If you make a payment, we collect and maintain certain transaction information. We work with third parties like payment processors to process payments. We do not collect, receive, process or store credit card or debit card numbers, or other third-party payment account credentials; this information is collected directly by these third parties. Depending upon the Service, we may receive your username, name, email, the payment type, product(s) or service(s), and other transaction details, and maintain records of your purchase and subscription history.
3. When you email us, call us, or otherwise send us communications regarding the BIG Sites, we collect and maintain a record of your contact details, communications and our responses.
4. Data collected automatically such as tracking information, IP addresses or other data related to usage on BIG Sites.
5. Cookies, to help us understand what areas of BIG Sites are most useful and interesting to our audience.
When required for BIG Conference registration, we collect and process your personal information including your name, address, telephone number and email address, and other preferences such as profile, photos and activity choices if applicable. At times, you may be asked to provide additional information, such as payment to provide under a secure conference registration process. When you provide your credit card number, it will only be shared with verified third parties who perform tasks required to complete the purchase transaction, and only the last four digits will be stored.
Comments and other public activities
We may offer you opportunities to engage in public activities on BIG Sites. "Public activities" are any actions you take on BIG Sites that are designed to be visible to other users -- including comments, recommendations and ratings. Your account is public by default. If you choose to engage in public activities, any personal information you upload may be read, collected or used by third parties.
Tracking information for our site
Other areas of the site automatically store non-personal information about the sites’ usage, popularity, and positive or negative impact. We use various technologies, such as Google Analytics cookies, to manage BIG Sites and track use of the content we provide, as well as Facebook to help us better target advertising on platforms that market BIG offerings to their users, and the YouTube API client to allow users to search for videos on YouTube. These technologies include:
We may collect and use your location data (such as your country) to provide a tailored experience for your region, but we don’t collect any geolocation-specific data from you or your device. You can change the settings on your computer or mobile device to prevent your location data from being shared. If you wish to opt-out of tracking and cookies, please manage your privacy settings on your browser, or select other ways to turn off cookies and/or ad features.
We use your data for limited purposes and do not sell it to any third parties. Specific uses are defined below. For residents in the European Union, we will only use your personal information if we have a legal basis to do so. This means that we will only use your personal information if this is necessary for the performance of our agreement with you, if you have given us consent thereto, to comply with a legal obligation or for our legitimate (commercial) interests, which we will communicate to you if such is the case.
Providing requested services
We may use the data to fulfill your requests for services and information. For example, using your contact information to respond to your customer service requests, or to enable registration for one of our conferences.

We may disclose the personal information we collect from you to third party vendors, service providers, contractors or agents who perform functions on our behalf.
In order to help BIG better market on third party platforms, BIG works with third parties to collect information about your use of our website so that BIG can provide advertising about BIG’s offerings (such as products and services) tailored to your interests. That advertising may appear either on our website, on our apps, or on other websites.
